Sarah Ferrer
Sarah was born and raised in Miami, she graduated with a dean's award from the Visual Art department of New world school of the Arts in 2013. After high school she graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute majoring in Ceramics and completed a certificate program focused on Asian art. Through the influence of the certificate program, after graduating in 2017 Sarah was accepted into the JET program to move and start a life in Japan. Through the JET program Sarah had the opportunity to work in a high school in Amami Ōshima (奄美大島), Japan. While working a full time job as an English teacher and volunteering as an assistant in the school's art club she also began an apprenticeship in the ceramic studio, Yachaboyaki (野茶坊焼). She studied under the ceramic master Junichi Ikenomi (池波陶柳) for three years becoming his first and last apprentice.
Since returning to the US, Sarah and her twin sister Samantha Ferrer founded 2win! Studios in Hialeah in 2022. At 2win! Studios Sarah has continued her own practice creating ceramics and paintings. Alongside her career Sarah works on developing 2win! Studios in order to help grow the art and clay community of south Florida.
