Studios invites you to El Paraíso Perdido, an exhibition that dismantles the shimmering façade of Miami as an opulent paradise, exposing the superficiality beneath its carefully curated aesthetic. This show explores the growing disparity between the glamorous image of Miami projected to the world and the lived realities of its residents—revealing a city where the average person is often excluded from the luxury lifestyle that defines its reputation. The walls are painted a deep, rich blue, evoking Miami’s oceanic allure but with an unsettling depth, while the floor features sticker vinyl checkered tiles in pastel hues, reminiscent of vaporwave aesthetics and immersing visitors in a mood of nostalgia. This environment sets the stage for a narrative of loss, longing, and illusion, confronting the unattainable image of paradise perpetuated by the media.
